Amazon has slashed the cost of a range of own-brand tech gadgets in ‘surprise sale’ – and we have some of the top picks.
Amazon has excited bargain hunters by slashing the cost of a range of its own tech gadgets ahead of the biggest sales event of the year.
The online delivery giant is gearing up to launch its two-day Prime Day sale for 2023, which will give shoppers the chance to nab some brilliant deals. While no date has been confirmed at the moment, it is said to launch in mid-July.
However, if you are in need of a new Fire TV, Echo Dot or even a Kindle, then the online retailer has launched a 'surprise sale' on selected tech products that you can find when manually searching for each product.
The price drops cover a range of Amazon's own-branded tech gadgets, which you can distinguish as being any device backed by its signature Alexa, be it the Echo Dot, Fire TV and tablets, reports the Manchester Evening News.
As rummaging through sales looking for the best buys can sometimes be time consuming, we have selected a few products that we think might be worth taking a look at.
A range of Fire Tablets have been slashed in the sale, but the most affordable option is the Fire Tablet 7 which has been reduced from £64.99 to just £49.99.
The tablet has consistently been the subject of high praise, particularly within the Amazon reviews, as many have hailed its quality, speed and battery life.
One review read: "I bought this tablet for my 4 year old. Very modern and update, it has a brilliant battery life on it which is perfect for a child who is constantly watching YouTube or Netflix. Very easy to use, my son can work this on his own including typing a password. Storage is also good for his many games
A second read: "Great for kids & adults. Good value for money and quick speed. No issues at all."
One of the biggest discounts across Amazon's Fire TV's is the Fire TV 50-inch 4 Series, which has seen it reduced by £140.
Originally priced at £429.99, it now costs just £289.99, which is a good deal for a TV that has long been hailed as a more affordable version of the Sky Glass TV.
Fitted with 4K, Dolby Digital audio, HDR, shoppers can choose from sizes starting from 32-inch. Prices do rise depending on the size of the screen as the 40-inch version of the Fire TV 2 Series is reduced by £70 to £229.
Select Amazon Fire Sticks are also on sale, an alternative product for shoppers on a smaller budget but still looking to stream TV series, films and the likes of Netflix. The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is reduced to £38.99 from an original £64.99 and can be plugged into any TV as long as it has an HDMI port.
Select Echo Dot's are also reduced in price right now, including the Echo Dot 5th Generation, Echo Dot 4th Generation, Echo Show 8 and the Echo Dot Kids.
Two of the biggest discounts include the 5th Generation that has been reduced from £54.99 to just £39.99. This is followed closely by the 4th Generation, which has been slashed from £109.99 to just £79.99.
The Smart Speaker, which comes with Alexa voice-controlled features, has been a popular choice for Amazon shoppers, as it can play music, answer questions, make calls and provide weather reports.
