OnePlus Android Rumors
OnePlus is one of the few remaining big-name smartphone brands without a foldable device in its portfolio, but that’s about to change with the upcoming announcement of the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus Open as recently speculated. The official device name is still under wraps, but it is expected to debut in August at a special event in New York and we’ve compiled the most up-to-date leaks and rumors into one place.
OnePlus Fold is expected to arrive with an outward folding design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and vivo X Fold2. A recent batch of CAD-based renders shared by @OnLeaks show a tall cover display and a larger inner panel.
The renders of the OnePlus Fold actually look just like the leaked schematic of the yet to be announced Oppo Find N3 which is expected to be remain China-exclusive while the OnePlus foldable will be available internationally.

The renders also reveal a OnePlus 11-inspired camera cutout on the back with Hasselblad branding and three sensors. OnePlus Fold brings sleek metal sides and a textured back with a leather-like finish. The sides also sport a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and the fan-favorite alert slider on the left hand-side.
Moving to the specs department, OnePlus Fold will house a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outward facing panel is also expected to carry a 20MP selfie camera housed inside a centered punch-hole cutout.
The main 7.8” LTPO AMOLED display will likely feature 1,900 x 2,100px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Based on the renders, it will have a punch hole cutout in the top left corner for its 32MP selfie cam.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is expected to cover the chipset department and it will be paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
OnePlus Fold is expected to carry a 50MP main sensor (IMX890) alongside a 48MP ultrawide (IMX581) – the same sensors found on the OnePlus 11. We found that camera setup to perform adequately in our review, you can take a look at some samples here. The third module on the back of the OnePlus Fold is expected to be a 64MP telephoto camera.

OnePlus Fold is rumored to arrive with a 4,800mAh battery and 67W charging support which is a tad smaller than the OnePlus 11’s 5,000 mAh battery. The software department is expected to be covered by OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13, but it remains to be seen how OnePlus plans to add more features for the larger canvas.
Pricing and availability
Pricing and availability are the two biggest question mark regarding the OnePlus Fold with no real leaks being published thus far. Being a horizontally folding device with flagship specs means we should expect a price tag in the $1,500-$1,800 range just like the Galaxy Z Folds and Pixel Folds of the world.
As for availability, OnePlus Fold will likely launch in the US and Europe first with more regions expected to follow. We’ll make sure to update you with more details on the OnePlus Fold as they emerge so keep an eye out on our news section.
Honestly naming is horrible. They should rename it Shazam. Or open Sesame. Or Kai from Japanese language or Naruto and Boruto series it means Open. Plenty of names comes up to my mind that are much better.
