NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, the leading media company serving Hispanics across the U.S and Puerto Rico, has again joined forces with Comcast’s Project UP program and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, to announce the donation of an additional 2,500 free laptops, totaling 10,000 free laptops donated to Latino youth and community organizations through its longstanding campaign.

The milestone underscores the companies’ unwavering commitment to connecting Hispanic families across the nation to essential technology and resources.

The program, now in its fourth year, began as a local initiative and has since grown into a national program seeking to help bridge the digital divide in Hispanic communities across the country.
“These laptops are an investment in the next generation of young Hispanic students,” says Broderick Johnson, Comcast’s EVP Public Policy and Executive Vice President, Digital Equity. “By combining free laptops with the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program or Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, these students can grow up connected to everything the Internet has to offer. With the right tools and digital skills, they can all tap into their own unlimited possibilities.”

This yearly initiative between Telemundo, Comcast, and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation is an integral component of Project UP.
Backed by a $1 billion commitment to reach tens of millions of people, Project UP encompasses the programs and community partnerships across Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky that connect people to the Internet, advance economic mobility, and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators.

Project UP includes digital equity programs such as Internet Essentials and Lift Zones. Since 2011, the Internet Essentials program has connected more than 10 million people to low-cost broadband service at home.
“Alongside our partners, we’re excited to reach the extraordinary milestone of providing 10,000 laptops to families in need,” says Christina Kolbjornsen, Senior Vice President of Corporate and External Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “This shared initiative goes beyond mere connectivity; it’s a catalyst for new opportunities within our Latino communities. These laptops serve as gateways to education, employment, and a brighter future for today’s youth. At Telemundo, we take immense pride in our community, fostering connectivity and seeking to create possibilities for the families we serve.”
The 2,500 laptops donated this month will be distributed nationally to underserved youth and families in Boston, Miami, Houston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Washington, D.C, and through established organizations including The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, and Comcast-funded nonprofits like PROSPERA and The Hispanic Alliance for Career Advancement (HACE).

“Access to technology and digital connectivity are among the biggest equity issues in America,” says Antonio Tijerino, Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s president and CEO. “You need to be connected to succeed in education, workforce and moving your community forward. We are grateful to have partners like Telemundo and Comcast, which share our mission of connecting the Latino community to resources, and progress.”
